It's been a while...

Hey,

Sorry for the long absence. I've been battling a pinched nerve in my neck that has made my days and nights very uncomfortable. With that I've had many days of headaches to survive as well... but today is a better day than most, so here I am. :D

Follow ups on a few things... Leoni and I are still chatting quite often, although we are becoming more like a couple as we chat when we can find the time and don't get all worked up if one of us is a no-show... lol. Also, our meeting may have to get postponed as the price of the flight for her to come here has nearly doubled. We will be re-evaluating the situation often.

Also, my entries in the photo contest were some of the more colorful entries, but unfortunately not among the winners... it was a very interesting experience.

I went to DeSoto Falls on 11-28-08 and enjoyed it very much. It was my first visit and a treat, to be sure, with many photo opportunities. Check out my website for the photos in the Georgia folder at http://djlampkins.zenfolio.com/ .

We are expecting a dusting of snow here sometime this evening and hope to get a few shots if it really happens... LOL

I had a nice thanksgiving holiday. I made turkey, stuffing, potatoes and pumpkin pie for myself and I'm still nibbling on the last of the turkey... Had a bad headache all day but forced myself to do the cooking anyway... by 5pm the headache was gone but thankfully not my appetite. I hope y'all had a nice turkey day, too.

I note to friends and family: I love and miss you all, especially at this time of year, when the miles seem to go on forever...

So, I'll say goodbye for now...

The busy season has arrived!

The lab's busy season has begun and business is booming... Lot's to keep me busy. But the store is still in a bit of flux as we are still getting organized from the move. The frameshop is marked for a move date of 9/20. Then we should be all ready to roll... :D

Leoni and I are still chatting twice a day via Google Talk and we had our first voice to voice conversation last Sunday... what a treat that was.... she has a wonderful voice and marvelous accent. Suprisingly enough we were both a little tongue tied... no keyboard silence to hide behind. :D

We've decided that she's going to come to the US for a visit in April and she will stay for about 2 weeks.... I can hardly wait. She has filled my heart with hope and joy... things I had begun to give up on...

I can truely say that I've been blessed in our meeting.

All three of my art pieces were accepted into the art contest in Dawsonville, I hope I can get one to place for a cash prize, but even a sale would be nice... :D

Check out the show! Here is a link to the website! http://www.dawsonarts.org/flashintime.htm

Gotta run.... Take care! .................Dave

Exhausted...

August is nearly gone... and our move at work coming to an end.... Sleepless days and nights have been the norm lately...

If you remember the young lady I mentioned on my last post... Her name is Leoni and I've grown quite fond of her. We chat as often as we can and then a little more... LOL. She's had a truely wonderful effect on me and I couldn't thank the good Lord enough for crossing our lives with one another. She's a wonderful artist and you can see her work at: http://mainbearing.deviantart.com/ or http://www.redbubble.com/people/leoni
I know you'll love her work as I do... :)

Til next time.... Dave

Wow, where to start...

The Packers trade away Brett Favre... WTF. I'm like stunned by the whole mess... Amazing turn of events... But I have to say, the Pack decided to move on and did what they thought was best for the "long-term" future of the organization...

On a personal note, I have been spending a lot of time getting to know a lovely young lady, over the last week and a half. She's been a breath of fresh air in my life and I'm very fortunate to have had our lives cross paths. Not sure where it will head but as far as I can see down the road... it's all sunshine and roses... :)

I have a huge original print sale in the works... if it pans out it could mean $220 more pocket change!! I am also going to enter a local art show/contest in Dawsonville, with Grand Prize receiving $175... :)

Monday Night Football is starting so I will close for now.... Good Luck Aaron Rodgers... LOL!

Back to the Grind... too fast!!

After a very theraputic 10 days off... I'm right back at it.

Things weren't too bad at the office. A suprise.

Started a new website for the viewing and selling of my photography. Please check it out and bookmark it for future visits... http://djlampkins.zenfolio.com

Vacationtime Has Arrived!!

Finally, the car's all loaded up and I just need to take a nap for a few hours... then off I go. Weather is fairly poor all the way to southern Illinois so I'm putting off my departure for a few extra hours to let the weather move through and hopefully after midnight the storms should subside a bit more... Wish me good driving weather and low traffic volume. : )

See ya in 10 days.

Vacation

Well, I'll be leaving on the 10th at about 2 AM so I will arrive at Mom & Dad's in Wisconsin at about 4 PM. Really looking forward to seeing the family and maybe hook up with a few friends, too.

I need this time off so bad! Been stressing about work a lot. Our company is in the process of moving to a new location about three weeks after I get back...

Can't believe myself...

Was all ready to shoot fireworks when I got home from work last night...
I sat down on the couch... AND SLEPT THROUGH THE DAMN SHOW!! Geez!

Guess I didn't realize how tired I was... Oh well. Maybe I can get a chance at some tonight... (the local ones went off last night, July 3rd.)

Yea, Vacation in 11 days!!

Starting to go through all my gear and putting together everything for my trip home to Wisconsin. I leave on the 10th of July and come back to Georgia on the 18th... Looking forward to some time off and being able to shoot some pictures and even do a little fishing. Most of the flooding has subsided so I don't anticipate any issues.

Gearing up for the Fourth of July holiday....

Well, the 4th is quickly approaching and I plan to take a few fireworks shots. I've had poor luck with them in the past but this year I'll be using my digital camera... I feel things will be more successful with the instant feedback of digital.

Was online to order a new Point & Shoot Digital Camera for the glove compartment of the car... I'm sick of missing sunsets, lightning and wildlife because I don't have the SLR in the car. I just hate ordering from those camera places in New York and New Jersey, the salespeople are assholes and I always have problems with my orders through them... seems like saving that last 10.00 bucks just isn't worth the hassle. How soon I forget from my last attempted purchase from these retards. I tried to order this camera from Beach Camera and I pay for expidited shipping to get it before the 4th... They e-mail me and tell me that my creditcard was refused... I call the creditcard company and they say that the charge was approved that morning... I call Beach Camera back and they say they never approved anything, still being declined... Back and forth three times and two days later I finally get the problem ironed out, IT WAS ALL BEACH CAMERA'S FAULT!! two different departments trying to charge my card for the same transaction neither using the approval code (holding of my funds) from my original order. Then another day goes by and I receive an e-mail stating this camera is out of stock at that price and they suggested an alternative camera that was 50.00 more... What was I thinking!! LOL

Anyway, I found an alternative camera at BUY.COM and it will ship on Monday and arrive on Thursday and I got a great deal and a better camera!

My First Day Bloggin'

The only interesting thing going on right now is my photography, which seems to be getting started sales wise. I've had 4 prints, one greeting card and 5 screensavers sold so far. Hopefully this endeavor will continue to succeed.
